The Flying Wren’s Official Top 50 Bars Highlights!!! I’ve Enjoyed 18/50 So Far Mis Amigas

I am happy to say that my friends and I were the very first to go to this bar the very day it took the new top 50 list by storm.

The drinks are all based on meals and were so unique and so awesome and tasted bafflingly like the inspiration. The beet salad one was randomly so good, and I luckily got half of one free bc my friend forgot she didn’t like beets when she ordered it. 

WOW I honestly think this might deserve the top of the list.

I was taken here as a total surprise before it made the top 50 list. I was told we were going to dinner, and then my date claimed to be lost and checking his phone for directions, when suddenly the wall behind us opened up and asked our names and invited us in to the speakeasy.

The old fashioned was to die for, and so was every single drink. Wow and wow. 

Tbh you can’t trust anything I write here bc I was already accidentally drunk when I arrived and only barely sipped 1 drink. It was super cool looking inside, but I recommend arriving not totally wobbling on your feet

This was lovely and the menu was so so gorgeous. It somehow was like perfect Mexico City vibes, the same energy as the streets all around with the flowers and the building and idk.

Drinks were so good, tho the other 2 CDMX top 50 bars’ cocktails stood out more. 

There was one cocktail that shook me up there, and it was a mezcal margarita, which was quite unexpected for a London bar.

I also took the best picture ever, and yes indeed I did wait literally ages for the double decker bus to drive by for the perfect background setup

This was sooooo fancy and I just loooooved it. Best menu of ALL so beautiful. I had the greatest cocktails, the bartenders were so amazing, they even got me a cashmere blanket when I was cold!!!! What?? I just loved every single moment there!!! You cannot go wrong. 13 in the world but top 5 in my heart

Honestly, this might have given me my fave cocktail of the whole thing. The tomato one. Wow and wow. I am a big tomato girl and I love when bars absolutely dominate a very unique ingredient for a cocktail.

I also ran into another solo bestie there which was so so great! She is even more a top 50 bars enthusiast than I am

I had to muster up the courage to go to this one bc I was solo in Madrid, but then I sat at the bar and met the 2 funniest guys who were besties and they had crazy jobs and travel all over, and the 3 of us had the nicest time chatting.

I got an insane drink that looked like a dragon breathing fire and smoke!!!! Sadly no pics tho sorry

I really enjoyed my drinks there, but honestly the view stood out more than the cocktails I got. Zero complaints tho haha

After a bit of trouble even finding it, we got in with the help of many kind employees. The inside was such cool decor. I really liked the drinks, tho wish I had eaten before bc there weren’t food many options but that was my bad 

I brought my lil sis here and we had the best time! The cocktails were super good, and there was this sleek vibe. She got some mocktails also bc of her stomach hurting and those were pretty much as spectacular as mine! 

OMG ANOTHER total speakeasy surprise. I LOVED IT. Got me real good. Disguised behind a taco restaurant, gullible lil me got swept through the kitchen and to the secret speakeasy behind. WOW! Cutest decor, great surprise I recommend pulling on your friends.

I got a bunch of amazing drinks but the standout was the CELERY one! Again, I love those rando ingredients being made into something amazing

I swung to this bar after Clumsies just a lil before closing, so I just tried one drink. Super yummy and friendly bartenders, and the street seating was just perfect vibes.

Problem was that my flight at clumsies was so good, no bar should really follow that. But I bet if I had tried more drinks I would’ve liked it even more. 

Omgggggg BOY did I LOVE Katana Kitten. The drinks were spectacular, and the bartenders even more so.

I got quite quite tipsy bc the drinks were so incredible, and started begging the bartender for some of those little pickled onion things and he gave me an entire cup of them to munch on. Judge me all you want, but that is good customer service baby

Here the one that I remember best was a crazy flight of 3 cocktails that were so different and so fascinating. The decor and view of the harbor were topppp notch and also randomly had one of the best/coolest bathrooms of all time bc of the layout. 

Problem is, their thing is martinis and I am just not for matinisi in general. So I didn’t try any of their best stuff. Still, I loved the drinks and I loved the decor and I loved the location in the cutesiest little neighborhood of CDMX. 

Here I also had to go solo but ended up again making some really nice friends! I got their top cocktails flight, which was 4 amazing drinks where they tell you the specific order to drink them in and what made them so special. I am a sucker for flights, since I trust bartenders sincerely, and this one was one of the best! 

The decor of this place was so so amazing and incredible. Similar vibes to BKK Social Club but also totally different too haha. I managed to walk in, tho they recommend a res.

I tried some amazing cocktails, and I really loved each theme page of the menu. Super sweet bartenders as well, giving great recs for the city.
