Every trip is different, so make your bag choices based on that. These are the ones I have in my arsenal at home and choose from depending on where I am headed. They are not all necessary on every trip or anything, but definitely nice to have depending on the trip so you’re prepared.
Disclosure for my lovely readers! While opinions written here are 100% mine no matter what, in some blog posts I use affiliate links. Fear not; clicking costs you no extra money. But if you like my suggestions and go on to buy something, then Iโd hopefully make a few dollars of commission from your clicks. Thanks so much lovelies ๐
The Bags Themselves
- Good daily purse with crossbody strap and strong zipper
- Great travel wallet (always, this is my fave from Amazon)
- Maximum size personal item (always) (I love the nomad lane bento bag haha)
- Big old checked bag (I like Away)
- BIG carry on (I also like Away with their bigger carry on; it is the right size for big airlines and smaller airlines let you gatecheck if necessary)
- Black fanny pack
- Waterproof hikey type backpack (if you’re outdoorsy)
- Classy city day backpack (if you’re a city girl) (or on a work trip)
- A full on waterproof sealable dry bag for water activities (if you’re a kayak snorkel gal)
The Organizing
- Packing cubes (these ones are best bc of that double zip magic)
- Toiletry organizer (be warned, this one I love is absolutely massive lol)
- Electronics organizer
- Laptop sleeve to protect that bad boi
- Desk organizer (bc I work travel I love to have a place for pens and pencils and my bluetooth mouse etc)
- Laundry bag (should come with the packing cubes or with a suitcase, so no need to waste money to buy separately)
- Jewelry organizer (my necklaces would always get tangled so I got a super cute rollup one but it isn’t available any more so you’re on your own here)
Misc That Just Help
- Shoe smell absorbers
- Good slim money belt (people act like you need this everywhere, I only used it in super sketchy places that were also extremely high crowds and also alcohol involved)
- Secondary travel wallet
- Folder of some sort for when you have docs printed out for visas
- A waterproof phone holder hopefully on a lanyard thing (again for kayak girlies) (if you get the dry bag I linked above it comes with one)
I hope this helps! For more help, check out this trip prep guide ๐
